The Board of Directors for Women in Wireless are made up of the two co-founders of the organization, Charlotte Fors and Veronika Sonsev, along with Kristine Van Dillen Newman who was the co-president of the organization from 2013 – 2014. They created and developed the foundation for the organization to help connect, inspire and empower women in the mobile and digital industry.
Charlotte Fors is Vice President of Sales at Nexmo Inc. (acquired by Vonage in 2016), the largest global cloud communications platform. Before Nexmo she was VP of Sales at mBlox Inc. (acquired by CLX in 2016), the largest global messaging provider. She is also the President & Founder of Women in Wireless and on the board of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce as well as the Mobile Ecosystem Forum.
Charlotte has a background as a Strategy consultant with a leading Scandinavian management and IT consulting firm. She earned her MBA at Linkoping University in Sweden and was a PhD student at the International School of Management and Industrial Engineering.
Charlotte has always had a passion for helping women advance in their career. Women in Wireless has been a great platform to help support women and she is looking forward to continue to support it’s mission and to grow the organization globally.
Veronika Sonsev is a Partner with Chameleon Collective and also Chairman of Women in Wireless. As partner at Chameleon Collective, she works with B2B clients in retail and digital media to help them accelerate revenue through strategy, marketing and business development.
Prior to Chameleon Collective, Veronika founded and ran inSparq (acquired by Adiant Media), a software company that worked with some of the largest retailers and brands to market their trending products in real time. She has also held senior leadership roles at Jumptap (acquired by Millennial Media) and AOL.
As a lifelong advocate for women in business, Veronika founded Women in Wireless with Charlotte Fors in 2009 (both served as the organization’s first Co-Presidents). Veronika has always viewed Women in Wireless as platform for career advancement for women and looks forward to continuing to grow the organization under this mission the coming years.
Veronika holds a B.A. in Economics from American University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Kristine (van Dillen) Newman
Kristine M. Newman is a long-time mobile industry veteran and a leader in Women in Wireless since its founding. Kristine served as Women in Wireless’s co-President in 2013 and 2014, bringing the organization up to a membership of 10,000 with nine chapters worldwide.
Kristine is currently SVP, Digital Products & Solutions at WPP’s Cohn & Wolfe, and head of ME-24, Cohn & Wolfe’s Mobile Engagement unit, providing digital and mobile strategy, thought leadership and execution for Cohn & Wolfe clients.
Prior, Kristine worked in many areas of the mobile industry for clients including Coca Cola and Procter & Gamble and for companies including Accenture, the Mobile Marketing Association and Vindigo, the company who built the world’s best-selling mobile app in 2006.
Kristine was selected as one of Mobile Marketer’s “Mobile Women to Watch” in 2010, and has been featured in industry articles and participated as a speaker and panelist at many industry conferences including Ad:Tech New York.
